Mahtomedi Theatre students had a unique opportunity to learn from professional fight director and state combat teacher Mason Tyer. Mr. Tyer is training students for their upcoming one-act play, Rainbows vs. Bunnies: Annihilation. Click here to see a behind-the-scenes video of their training.
Students participated in a three-part series of stage combat instruction, including learning to throw and receive punches and kicks, fall, and move safely during a large fight scene. Chautauqua Fine Arts Center Manager Renn Joslyn shared, “With a production like this, we want to make fighting look both artistic and authentic, and Mason is a great person to do that.”
