On Veterans Day, O.H. Anderson (OHA) Elementary School held an all-school assembly to honor and celebrate our veterans. OHA students invited family and community members who are veterans to be honored at the celebration.
During the gathering, students learned about the significance of Veterans Day, sang the National Anthem, and each student who brought a guest introduced them to the school. Students and staff also heard from this year’s keynote speaker, Veteran Tim Doble. Mr. Doble is a Marine who served in Vietnam. He is a retired educator who taught for 30 years, a published author, and a volunteer who supports other veterans. During the presentation, he talked about the importance of thanking both veterans and military families for their service and understanding the sacrifice of serving our country. He also led the school in a Veterans Day "Oorah" cheer.
