Ms. Buttermore shared, “I really found my niche in my position as Media Para at MMS. It is my dream job in so many ways, and I enjoy going to work every day! To receive this honor for something I love doing is very special, as is honoring and remembering a fine teacher like Bil Gangl.”
Ms. Buttermore has worked at Mahtomedi Public Schools for 16 years as a paraprofessional, working in special education at Wildwood and O.H. Anderson Elementary Schools before joining the MMS Media Center. She’s also the proud parent of four Mahtomedi graduates: James (2008), Annie (2012), Jack (2014), and Billy (2020).

She encourages a love of reading, connects students with books they’ll enjoy, and brings the Media Center to life with engaging displays and celebrations.
As one colleague shared, “She sees the positive in students and colleagues, always thinking of others and the greater good. She builds sincere relationships and inspires students to be their best.”
