Ashley Walsh teaching gymnastics

Meet Community Education instructor Ashley Walsh!

Ashley Walsh is a Gymnastics instructor with Mahtomedi Community Education and leads our Tiny Tumblers program for ages 3-5 and our Beginners, Advanced Beginners, and Advanced classes for students in grades K-6.

An accomplished gymnast, Ms. Walsh was a member of the MHS Gymnastics team from 2004-2010 and later competed at the D3 collegiate level at Gustavus Adolphus College. After college, she found herself back in the MHS gym as an assistant high school coach. When she was asked to coach for Mahtomedi Community Education in 2023, she couldn’t turn it down, sharing that “the Mahtomedi Gymnastics program has a special place in my heart.”

Ms. Walsh is passionate about giving children the chance to try gymnastics in an exciting and fun environment right in their own community: “Watching kids, young and old, finding joy and succeeding in learning new skills brings a smile to my face and keeps me wanting to come back.”

Ms. Walsh and her family have long been a part of the Mahtomedi community. She, along with her parents, siblings, and husband, all attended MHS, and now her children and nephews are a part of the Mahtomedi community, too. “It’s a special place to grow up and live in,” she shared.

Ms. Walsh’s favorite part of Community Education is that “it provides the ability to participate in a sport in a less intense environment, all while being around other families within your own community.”

Thank you, Ms. Walsh, for the impact you make on our gymnastics community!
