Educational Benefits at Mahtomedi Public Schools

Did you know that filling out the educational benefits form can help your family with more than meals? Review the educational benefits form to see if your family qualifies for the 2022-23 school year.

The federal government has ended its free meals program, which was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the 2022-23 school year, the price for breakfast will be $1.60 for elementary students (breakfast for Kindergarten students is free) and $1.70 for secondary students. The price for lunch will be $2.95 for elementary students, $3.15 for middle school students, and $3.20 for high school students. Free and reduced price meals will be provided to families who need help covering the cost of meals.

How do I apply for educational benefits?

To find out if you qualify, fill out an Educational Benefits Form (also known as Free & Reduced Application) at www.schoolcafe.com/mahtomedips (or via the School Cafe app), sign in and click “apply” or complete the Application for Educational Benefits following the instructions. A new application must be submitted each year. Or use the pdf printable form and then return your completed Application for Educational Benefits to Mahtomedi District Office, Attn: Nutrition Services Department, 1520 Mahtomedi Avenue, Mahtomedi, MN 55115

How do I know if my family will qualify?

  • Family or child is homeless
  • The total income of household members is within the USDA guidelines (page 2 of this pdf)

What benefits are available?
