"My child had a fever last night but it is gone this morning, can they come to school?"

Should I Send My Child to School?
Many students and parents are concerned about when students should stay home or attend school.  If your child is absent due to illness, please call the school attendance line.  It is very helpful to us for tracking purposes to know the symptoms your child is experiencing.  The following information is intended to help with this decision.

If the student:
  • Had a fever of 100 degrees or more, they must stay home until they have been fever-free for 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing medication.
  • Vomited or had diarrhea, they must stay home for 24 hours after the last episode.
  • Had any rash for which the cause is unknown.  Check with your family physician before sending your student to school.
  • Been diagnosed with Strep Throat.  Your student must stay home for 12 hours after antibiotic treatment has started.
  • Uncontrollable cough.
  • If your student has symptoms of COVID-19 KEEP THEM HOME and contact the health office for further direction

Has an illness
Keep the student at home and call the school daily to report the illness.  If a child becomes ill at school, parents or the designated emergency contact is notified and expected to pick up the student within 30 minutes.

** First aid is provided to students with minor injuries.  If the injury is serious, 911 will be called and parents will be notified**

Please report the days your child will be absent from school.
