Lead in Water Testing
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) recommends that all drinking water should contain less than 20 ppb (parts per billion) of lead to be considered safe to drink.  They also recommend that the school district  test all drinking sources every 5 years.  This spreadsheet shows the results of our recent testing.  Mahtomedi Public Schools currently has no drinking sources that exceed the levels recommended by the MDH.  The school district will retest all sources in 5 years, or 2021. Please contact Adam Gemuenden at 651-407-2205 if you have any questions or concerns.

Surface Water Sampling
As documented in the district's Conditional Use Permit with the City of Grant, "the applicant shall be required to submit bi-annual water quality reports for review by the City Engineer. Water quality shall meet stormwater management levels." Areas tested are on the Wildwood Elementary property.
Vapor Barrier Testing
Vapor mitigation systems such as vapor barrier and venting systems were not required by the MPCA to be installed beneath Wildwood Elementary.  The school district chose to go above and beyond the MPCA requirements and chose to install a vapor barrier and passive venting system.  This voluntary testing will be done periodically.
