Mahtomedi Mourns Loss
of Former Board Member
Jim Keating
Mahtomedi Public Schools is sad to announce that Jim Keating, a former school board member and longtime community volunteer, passed away on May 14. Among his many contributions to Mahtomedi Public Schools and the community, Keating was past president of the Mahtomedi Basketball Association, past president of the Mahtomedi Youth Football Association, a member of the "chain gang crew" for MHS football, and a founder (along with his wife Vicki) of what is now the M Club.
"Jim put in countless hours on behalf of the youth of Mahtomedi," says Mahtomedi School Board Member Bob Donohoe. In honor of his contributions, Keating was inducted into the inaugural class of the Mahtomedi High School Athletic Hall of Fame in September.
Visitation will be held this Saturday, May 19 at St. Jude of the Lake at 10:00 AM. The service to follow at 11:00 AM.
