'My child had a fever last night but it is gone this morning, can they come to school?'

Should I Send My Child to School?

Many students and parents are concerned about when students should stay home or attend school.  If you child is absent due to illness, please call the school attendance line.  It is very helpful to us for tracking purposes to know the symptoms your child is experiencing.  The following information is intended to help with this decision.  If the student:
  • Had a fever of 100 degrees or more, they must stay home until they have been fever free for 24 hours, without the use of fever reducing medication.

  • Vomited or had diarrhea, they must stay home for 24 hours after the last episode.

  • Had any rash for which the cause is unknown.  Check with your family physician before sending your student to school.

  • Been diagnosed with Strep Throat.  Your student must stay home for 24 hours after antibiotic treatment has started.

  • Been diagnosed with Pink Eye (Conjunctivitis).  Your student must stay home for 24 hours after medication has started.

  • Uncontrollable cough.
